Hi! I’m Linda Walker, a serial entrepreneur, speaker, and business and life coach with special training for ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder).
In 1991, I learned my daughter had Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity or ADHD. My husband, Duane and I began learning everything we could about her condition, which quickly led us to realize that Duane also has ADHD. And we realized it was pretty obvious given his struggles to plan and organize his work, to manage his projects, to manage his time and his tendency to put things off to the last minute.
Having struggled through job losses and demotions along with severe financial, relationship and family problems, Duane finally agreed to seek the help of an ADHD coach, a move that completely transformed his life, and had a positive impact on my life and the lives of our children.
A Phoenix Rises from the Ashes
This discovery, and the transformation I saw in Duane thanks to ADHD coaching inspired me to become an ADHD coach myself. I attended the ADD Coach Academy in the U.S. to receive the specialized training necessary to work with adults with ADHD and to help them overcome the obstacles they face, succeed in life and make the valuable contribution I know they are destined to make, both at work and in their home lives.
As a coach, I’ve had the opportunity to see just how much the same techniques and strategies we use to help adults with ADHD concentrate, become more productive and overcome procrastination and disorganization work like magic to also help adults who, though they may not meet the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis, are disorganized, having trouble managing their time and their projects and are often at risk of burning out at work.
My Professional Path
After studying to become an ADHD coach, I have continued to pursue my professional development, having achieved my Professional Certified Coach designation (PCC) from the International Coaching Federation (ICF www.coachfederation.org). Continuously learning, I’ve also taken special training in group coaching and helping people deal with change at the Center for Coaching Mastery at Coachville (www.coachville.com).
I am also certified for the Emploi Québec’s Law 90, the “Loi favorisant le développement et la reconnaissance des compétences de la main-d’œuvre en administration et commerce.”
